Five Calhoun County students recently signed scholarship contracts with the Take Stock in Children Chipola Program. The students are Sebastian Skidmore and Nolon Bean from Altha Public School and Chelsee Cook-McGee, Hayley Sapp and Destiny Williams from Blountstown High School. The students will earn two-year scholarships to Chipola College once they graduate high school.

Senator Bill Montford, Representative Marti Coley, and Chipola President Dr. Jason Hurst spoke to the students during the event.

Money for these scholarships was raised in Calhoun County by the Calhoun County Take Stock in Children Committee. All money raised is matched dollar for dollar by the state. Tax deductible donations can be made to the Chipola College Foundation and earmarked for Calhoun County. You may also give online at www.takestockinchildren.org
